After many enquiries from every corner of the UK and even overseas, the pilots to represent “Team Niviuk UK” for 2008 have now been selected. A combination of enthusiasm, experience, ability, and potential, but most of all, a genuine team ethos which has been the main focus for selection. We have carefully selected each individual pilot because we feel they genuinely have something unique to offer to the team. This new and enthusiastic team is a team to which pilots of all levels will be able to relate, a team of pilots who will encourage and inspire competition pilots of the future.

Alex Colbeck – Although a young pilot and a relative newcomer to competitive flying, in his first year of flying his HOOK, Alex has made his presence known in style. In his first ever National competition, the British Paragliding Cup, Alex came 9th out of 50+ competitors in both the tasks he flew. In events such as the Lakes Charity Classic he comfortably took second place, seeing off a large field of experienced pilots and serial wings as he did so. Despite his rookie status, many pilots already recognize him as a rapidly growing natural talent and we think he is set to develop into a world-class pilot. Watch this space and remember his name. Alex has chosen to fly the ARTIK XP. More info...

Sam Cullingworth – Despite leaving the UK in 2006 to live in Turkey, Sam will be frequently returning to the UK purely to take part in competitive flying. In Turkey he has recently smashed the XC distance record from Mount Babadag and has enjoyed almost one and a half years of flying the strongest thermic conditions Turkey has to offer. If you are a betting person we think it could be worth placing a small wager on Sam. His chosen wing is the new PEAK 29.
